The idea for The 365 Movie Experiment came from several places. First of all, the movie Julie and Julia and all those other "*something* a day" blogs, vlogs and plogs that people do have inspired me to chose a *something* a day of my very own. Second, I have a friend who is a film critic and I absolutely adore him and constantly look to him for advice when seeking out what movie I will watch next - but he mostly discusses recent releases - and I just cant get to the theater as often as I would like. Third...well, I was subjected to a film I hated last Friday night. I decided that even a working mom non-film-critic should have a voice. I may as well share my feelings SOMEWHERE about movies. I'm not an expert...although I have taken a "Film As Literature" class in college...but I promise to try and stick to this goal of watching ONE film each day for 365 days. The fourth and final reason for this experiment is that my family recently became acquainted with Netflix in our household and just this evening I found myself bemoaning the fact that even though it EXISTS, I rarely step outside my comfort zone and watch something outside the norm. This is the result of that.
My commitments to YOU, the fearless blog reader:
1. Watch a different movie every day for one year.
2. Keep the reviews brief and entertaining to read (I hope)
3. Stick to a majority of movies available through Netflix
(since they were a major inspiration for this experiment)
That's all - I hope you enjoy this journey - for that matter, I hope *I* enjoy this journey.
Watch the foreign film "Bella" I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. It was one I enjoyed and have wanted to watch again.
