So I Married An Axe Murderer -

It's been my experience through the years that you either love Mike Meyers or you do NOT love Mike Meyers. I happen to LOVE (!!!) Mike Meyers and that means that I have also loved just about everything he has done movie-wise over the past 20 years.

So I Married An Axe Murderer is part mystery, part love story, part comedy, part buddy-flick. You also have Phil Hartman as Alcatraz guard/guide "Vicky" and even Charles Grodin sneaks a little cameo as the driver of a commandeered car.

The plot circles around Meyer's character Charlie - a beatnik poet who inhabits coffee houses and explores his arty side. He tends to date lots of girls - finding things wrong with each of them - which leads to a breakup. Charlie's friends and family members are all concerned he will never find love. Nancy Travis plays Harriet. Harriet is a little mysterious - but instantly you find she's the perfect match for Charlie. Charlie's hesitant to believe she might be the one for him, but friends and family talk him into staying with her and even asking her to marry him. Everything seems fine until an article from the Weekly World News seems to suggest Harriet might be a whole lot more than Charlie thinks she is.

[I have always really enjoyed this movie. Some great music comes from this movie - especially Ned's Atomic Dustbin version of The Bay City Roller's "Saturday Night"]
