Annie - 1982

Another girly-girl kids movie! But what can I say? I have a girl...who's a kid...and she's been getting to make the movie choices the past couple of days.

For those who haven't seen Annie, it's the story of a little orphan girl at an orphanage in the 1930's depression era. She longs for a better life than the one she has and everything takes a weird twist the morning she runs into a dog who needs a hand up from the streets. She takes the dog (who she names "Sandy") in as her own and begins to understand what it's like to care for someone like herself - someone not wanted or needed.

She has a lot of "moxie" and when a private secretary to a billionaire comes calling at the orphanage looking for an orphan to move into the mansion for a week, Annie thrusts herself into unsuspecting arms and ends up finding her way into a single man's heart. The journey is not without struggles, however. Overcoming the shady side of people and finding the true meaning of what a parent is and what they can be is something Annie finds very rewarding.
