(For Thursday 3/10) Exit Through the Gift Shop - 2010

Talk about incredible documentaries. WOW. This one takes the documentary cake.

Self-professed NO ONE, Thierry Guetta basically decides he's addicted to filming and looks for an outlet. He finds STREET ART and decides to spend the next decade-plus filming such street art greats as Banksy and Shepard Fairey. Because of the camera, these guys who normally look to NO ONE for guidance and assistance begin bringing him into their inner circles.

One day, he decides HE TOO can make street art. Suddenly, an artist (of sorts) is born.

As Thierry continues to create, he becomes a legend in his own mind. Banksy half-heartidly recommends he "do a small show" after viewing his pitiful attempt at a documentary. Thierry becomes MR. BRAINWASH and overnight seemingly creates a world surrounding himself as the centerpiece of an art installation in Hollywood. He creates an entire show around his pieces - many of which are thrown together at the last minute. You don't know who to root for and who the underdog is - but one thing's for sure - you've never seen a documentary like this one.
