(For Tuesday 4/5) The Science of Evil - 2008

Once again, National Geographic brings on the type of documentary that so many people would have no idea how to tackle. How do you even begin to define evil? One person's version of evil is another person's version of normal.

The documentary focused on what the public at large would consider to be truly evil - Jeffery Dahmer, for example. You know the guy who had all the parts and pieces in his apartment in Milwaukee...well, this documentary did touch on him as well as his perceived "change" at the end of his life when he found spirituality and was baptized.

There were also mentions of scientific studies on the brain that determines where evil comes from. Ironically - this "science" of evil only made up about 15% of the entire documentary. I feel like it should have been more aptly named "The Existence of Evil" or something less clinical. I expected them to delve more deeply into the complex and scientific and instead they really spent most of the time focused on the person and the people who's actions are considered evil.
