Big Fat Liar - 2002

Paul Giamatti plays bad guys REALLY, really well.

He was "Pig Vomit" in the movie "Private Parts" (Howard Stern's movie) and he excelled as evil and cruel "Marty Wolf" in this movie.

Big Fat Liar is a movie about a young boy named Jason who write an English paper that Giamatti's character steals to turn into a movie. A large part of the movie involves Jason trying to get back his paper and eventually get Marty to admit to being a thief. Luckily, it becomes pretty easy to do when Marty has far more enemies in his life than he has friends - or even acquaintances.

There are plenty of slapstick moments, and a lot of that "I'm going to find out a way to double-cross the grownups" mentality that most kids' movies have. My favorite scenes in the movie revolve around the end where Jason and Kaylee (Jason's friend played by Amanda Bynes) entice Marty to chase them around the Hollywood movie sets at Universal Studios. I loved seeing all the props and transitions from summer to winter and America to Italy in seconds. A pretty cute movie for the tween set.
