Mr. Hobbes Takes A Vacation - 1962

The perfect movie to watch after you take a family vacation is...

MR. HOBBES TAKES A VACATION!

Jimmy Stewart is a great example of a sardonic father of many in this movie. We sat down to watch it as a family last night and laughed and laughed at all the antics he managed to get himself into.

The movie begins as Jimmy Stewart is telling his secretary to take a letter. He begins talking about the miserable experience that he just managed to get through - a family vacation. He shares his frustrations in a very detailed fashion - allowing us to relive his experiences renting an old house with shoddy plumbing and working through several different layers of family issues with pretty much everyone except his lovely wife. We even get to experience "out of town guests" that he needs to impress who basically watch paint dry for fun - the best scene in the movie involves these out of town guests and the bad plumbing mentioned a moment ago - OH, and a broken doorknob. Hysterical.

Looking for a family-friendly movie that's also pretty entertaining, clean and funny? Here's your movie!
