I think I will probably end up watching each Harry Potter movie at SOME point during this year of movies experiment. :)
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was a much anticipated movie. As the books get more and more intense and the characters grow older and wiser, I find that the movies tend to touch less on the things I want to know, and more on the relationships between other characters. One of the things I loved so MUCH about The Sorcerers Stone (apart from the fact that since everything was being introduced for the first time it all felt new and exciting) is that there was an innocence and a simplicity in the portrayal of the book/story through the movie that just does not exist with the later movies.
Anyway, Order of the Phoenix is a fantastic movie exploring the bonds of friendship on a peer level, primarily Harry's friends and classmates. We see Harry taking the job as a supervisor of others - an instructor in the defence against the dark arts. This is also the movie where we lose Sirius. Voldemort *HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED* takes a big spotlight at the end of this movie where we see him attacking Harry in the Ministry of Magic - smashing glass everywhere and fighting back hard against Harry's will. Harry always managed to hold on to his courage and impress everyone with his bravery and ability to perform magic far beyond his years. This movie is no exception.
