Toy Story 2 - 1999

My all-time favorite Pixar movie...Toy Story 2.

Last night Emmy and I re-arranged her room. Thankfully, we left the dresser with her TV and DVD player in place - so we kept ourselves company by watching the movie as we cleaned, organized and as I hefted impossibly heavy shelves and furniture around.

What I like MOST about the second Toy Story is that I felt there was a far more entertaining plot. Adding the background for Woody's fame was so wonderful - seeing that he had this unknown life as a television star in the 50's - that he was special, like Buzz - only different. Bringing in Jesse (who has the most touching song EVER in ANY Disney movie I think) and the Prospector and of course Bullseye...these characters were NEEDED in the series - which I know might seem strange since there were already more toys than you could keep track of - but Buzz had a family when he came to Andy's house...Woody did too, but it seemed as though he was searching. This movie addressed that.

Pixar was an incredible thing to happen to Disney. I really think that the older Disney movies were very special - but there's something cleaner and crisper about a Pixar Disney movie.
