Toy Story 3 - 2010

Tears. That's the thing I will take with me the most about this movie. TEARS. I cried two or three times. I know, I am SUCH a weenie.

Toy Story 3 picks up about 10 years after Toy Story 2 ends. We're immediately introduced to a MUCH older Andy, getting ready to leave home and go to college. The toys find themselves stuffed into a toy box and not played with. Andy's mom starts harping on Andy to go through his old things and donate some of his toys he no longer wants to the day care center. Andy goes through his things and can't bare to part with any of his beloved toys. He packs all of them into a garbage bag for the attic - except Woody who is the chosen toy to accompany Andy to college. Andy's mom mistakes the toys for trash and out they go. Woody rescues the toys, but then they decide they might be better off at a day care center where kids will play with them.

When Andy finally does get ready to drive away, he has to make the same types of decision that plague all of us when we get ready to leave home for the first time. What will I do without my toys? How do I leave my childhood behind - not forgotten, but treasured? How do I communicate to my mom or dad that I still love them and that me wanting so desperately to leave doesn't have anything to do with how much I love them, and more about how I just can't wait to be my own person? How can I call myself an adult and STILL want to play with my toys?

This Toy Story was most definitely touching AND entertaining. I highly recommend it - just plan on bring some tissues. :)
