Gumby: The Movie - 1995

And again we have reached a time where my quotient of kids movies over adult movies have increased exponentially. The weather is bad, the days are long and it seems to break things up for Emmy to watch a movie with me. Little does she know that she's becoming quite the movie aficionado. I hope she's excited with her super-uber-cool popcorn machine that will be under the tree (a "movie house" machine that looks difficult but is actually an air-popper!).

Gumby: The Movie is actually pretty much just like the short claymation series that first premiered in 1953. The regular cast of characters is there. In this movie, Gumby is a part of a band called "Gumby and the Clayboys" and he's getting quite the following. This angers the dastardly Blockheads and they decide to kidnap the band and create their own band using the talents of Gumby and his friends and turning them into an animatronic robot-like band.

Gumby and crew figure out what the Blockheads are up to and they attempt to thwart the attempts. Some people find Gumby a bit boring, but I would suggest watching this and pinching yourself several times to remind you what incredible things can be done with clay.
