Is there more romantic a movie than one with Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant? One where people who are attached to the wrong person suddenly end up thrust into a situation with the right person? And then decide that they will each go their seperate ways for a time, decide for certain that their new-found love is real, and break it off carefully with their current partners and then meet...at the TOP of the Empire State Building...and marry each other?
No. No there is not. There are only movies that have TRIED to be as romantic...tried to be as touching...tried to be as tender as this one has succeeded at being.
An Affair To Remember gets my utmost-n-highest pick as MOST ROMANTIC MOVIE...but dear friends...does that mean you should ever watch it with a male? NO. No no no no...a thousand times no. They will not understand your impending need for more kleenex. They will not understand your desire to have something *so romantic* happen to you and they will most definately not get how Cary Grant looking at a wheelchair at the end and then looking back at Deborah Kerr could POSSIBLY make you weep more than you did at your distant relatives last funeral.
Should you still watch it? YES. I recommend chocolate and kleenex as a side dish.
