Taking 4 kids to this movie definitely helped add to the entertainment value and the lowering value of my wallet...but I am digressing and I am only on the first sentence!
Roderick Rules was the sequel to the FIRST Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie, which was actually pretty good...and I have seen it enough times to know that. In this one, the issues between older brother Roderick and younger brother (and Wimpy kid in question) Greg are highlighted for the audience to see and compare their OWN sibling relationships with. Of course, like so many siblings, Roderick and Greg have some pretty serious disagreements. The one difference here is that their mom seems to have made it her mission to try and improve brotherly relations.
Greg and Roderick end up having a HUGE party when the parents leave for the weekend to punish them (I know, it doesn't HAVE to make sense, it's a kid's movie) - and when a downstairs bathroom door with a lock suddenly disappears and a new lockless door appears in it's place, the boys band together to keep away from their parents what REALLY happened to the door.
Hijinks and capers and plenty of funny and in-the-moment stuff - this movie will satisfy the urge to giggle and smile from all your tweens. They might even enjoy some of the trouble making vicariously.
