Two women meet in Rome from completely different cultures and backgrounds. They each have their hurts, their joys, their frustrations and their heartaches to share with each other in a country and place that is very unfamiliar to them.
The two slowly fall in love with one another over the course of an evening that spans the entire length of the movie. The morning appears and they are unsure how to proceed. They each have their own lives to go back to, but each feel drawn emotionally and physically to the other.
They hang a white sheet as a sign of their eternal undying love. The scenes are sweet but over-dramatic at times. Emotionally jarring and romantic, but also graphic - this movie still does remain as one where the love story takes place between two intelligent and successful women.
