Mel Brooks won an Oscar for a extremely short movie in 1963. That movie was called THE CRITIC.
An adventure in early computerized animation, there were screens and screens of blocks and other shapes with brightly colored hues. For the most part, the shapes don't do much other than make interesting designs as you hear the apparently 71 year old Jewish man's booming voice in the background announcing such interesting things as "A COCHK-A-ROACCCHHH" and "WHAT DA HELL IS DISS?"
The music is a thing of beauty. Ancient tunage for sure.
I have to assume the title refers to Mel Brook's "character" - and I use that term loosely - who has something to say about everything, especially when it involves something that can be complained about in detail - which seems to be the extremely opinionated critic's most impressive talent!
