(for Thursday) Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - 2005

The fourth movie in the series was actually my favorite book. I couldn't wait to see this one - in fact, it's still my favorite I think.

What did I like so much MORE about this movie than the others? I guess it's the idea of the whole challenge - the Tri-Wizard Tournament. This WAS magic for me - meeting up with other wizards (who knew they had MORE? I mean, I should have just KNOWN I guess) and getting together for the Wizard Cup (like the World Cup) and experiencing Quiddich like the world experiences Soccer. It was just really special - I guess it brought home the entire illusion that the Harry Potter thing could be believable.

My favorite part of this movie BESIDES the story is that we start to really see characters develop in Ron, Hermione and Harry. Even Neville gets personality in this movie. Plus they all have their hair long and shaggy and I really liked that look.

Emmy's favorite part is the second challenge - she loves wrapping her brain around the mer challenge. I think she likes seeing Krum as a shark. Then again, she's very brave and I think she sees Harry's decision to save Ron and Fleur's sister as both brave and admirable - as well as something she herself could put her own spin on. All in all, an excellent example of how good a Potter movie can be.
