Jingle All The Way - 1996

Arnold Schwarzenegger in a Christmas movie? Yep. Machine guns? Nope.

Jingle All The Way, while having a very LOW rating on IMDB, happens to be one of my favorite Christmas movies. The Arnold stars as Howard Langston, a fast-talking and hard-working husband and father who has a hard time making time for the people he loves.

Langston's son has ONE Christmas wish. He wants a TURBO MAN action figure (doll) for Christmas. Langston's wife presses him to make sure he bought the toy like he promises. He swears he did - thinking he can just run out to Toys R Us and pick up one. Remember Tickle-Me-Elmo? Remember Cabbage-Patch-Kids? Yeah, that's TURBO MAN. There are lots of sight gags, lots of cops-and-robbers and a whole bunch of belly laughs that result in watching this poor sap try and save Christmas for his son.

Give this one a try if you haven't seen it - it's a sleeper hit - I swear. Sinbad, Rita Wilson (Tom Hank's wife), Robert Conrad, Martin Mull and Phil Hartman all have sizable roles. It's funny, it's the perfect time of year to watch it, and chances are that if you have kids - it will make you feel like you're a better parent. :)
