(For Monday 3/7) Secrets of Mary Magdalene - 2006

So I think by now that everyone knows that Dan Brown (author of the Da Vinci Code) really saw a major love story between Jesus and Mary Magdalene. I, personally, am somewhat on the fence. As a woman who loves a good love story, I like to think that Jesus was not alone emotionally - and that there was someone who held him and comforted him. As far as the physical part goes....ugh....it's almost like thinking about my parents....ewwwwwwww.

The Secrets of Mary Magdalene is a documentary following the trail of "evidence" that people have found to back up claims that Miss Mary M. and Jesus were...an item, I guess. I found it to be interesting as far as documentaries go - not very technical, packed with leading experts and fairy good dramatic reenactments.

Did it change my mind? Not really. Maybe it makes me weak minded, but I prefer to just live in a world of suspended thought about the entire thing. I think it's not really much of my business. I can see how and why the "evidence" might have been covered up, but I am also not sure how comfortable I would feel if I believed it was 100% accurate.
