Some people don't like the fact that I am a Will Ferrell fan. Actually, during this movie experiment I have found more Will Ferrell movies that I DISlike than Steve Carell movies that I dislike - hmmm, what I mean to say is:
Will Farrell 3, Steve Carell 8
Carell plays Evan Baxter, a politician - congressman - who is given the chance to succeed as a small fish in a big pond by a big-shot congressman who sees a certain something in him. Just when things are about to go OH SO RIGHT in Congressman Baxter's political life, he gets a tap on the shoulder from a Supreme Being - yes, that would be God.
God tells Baxter that he needs him to build an ark. After much questioning and a few disagreements, Evan finally gives up and starts accepting the fact that he's been given this big job to do. He's on the verge of losing everything, but still perseveres. Faith really can do a lot towards giving you the reason to question everything you know and still feel good about it. Evan finds the things that really matter...and shows what he's really made of. It's hard to dislike a movie with a message like that.
