Anyone else think it's a little weird that I am posting on facebook about a movie about facebook? Nah. Didn't think so. Actually, the argument could be made that this movie was actually more about intellectual property and the varying degrees of common sense and sanity that extremely bright computer programmers have.
Depending on how one chooses to rate a movie, you could rate this one high for it's uniqueness and it's quality and the fact that as you're watching it, you feel like an uncomfortable fly on the wall thrust into the lives of these boys at Harvard and as they grew and moved on in their lives. If you rate this movie as to whether or not it's an ALL TIME FAVORITE - or even one that you intend to watch over and over again, I think it would rate pretty low on my scale. It's an incredibly well done movie, but it will never be a favorite.
I think life would be less fulfilling without facebook. Yes, I said it. I love it - I love checking in on my friends and sending them warm fuzzies. I love playing mindless games to clear my head. I love reuniting with old friends and sending along virtual birthday greetings. For the record, after much consideration, I don't feel Zuckerberg stole anything. He took an idea and made it better. It's really no different than having a recipe for applesauce and someone else comes along and adds cinnamon and a little bit of ginger and sugar and chills it and makes it a zillion times more delicious. Zuckerberg invented it. Case closed.
